CHICKEN CURRY WITH SMOOTH GRAVY

Recently, tried a chicken curry in a friend's (SM) place which tasted so good and the gravy was so smooth. My kids like curries with smooth gravies (where they cannot feel the onion or tomato or whatever veggies). So got the recipe from her who do not have spoon but hand/eye measurements for ingredients (same as my mother) and tried with my own measurements.

It is very easy to make and turned out to be very tasty.

Ingredients:
Chicken - 1 kg, cleaned and cut into medium-sized pieces
Big onion - 4 medium sized very finely chopped
Ginger garlic paste - 3 tsp
Green chilly -1 finely chopped
Coriander leaves - 1 cup + for sauteing
Curry leaves - 2-3 flakes
Priya Chicken masala powder - 2.5 tsp
Red Chilly powder - 1.5 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 3/4 tsp
Garam Masala powder - 3/4 tsp
Salt - 2.5 tsp
Tomato paste - 3 tsp
Water - 1.5 cups
Coconut oil - 4-5 tbsp

Method:
- Clean and cut chicken into medium-sized pieces and keep it aside
- Finely chop the onion and keep aside
- Heat oil in a pan, add chopped coriander leaves first, which gives a nice fragrance and taste to the curry. Saute it for a minute.
- Then add curry leaves, ginger garlic paste, followed by chopped onion, green chilly and saute until onion is done.
- Now add chicken, all the dry powders and saute for sometime
- Add water, cover and cook until chicken is almost done.
- Now add tomato paste and cook for another 10 minutes.
- Once done, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with Ghee rice or chapatti.
