ONION CORIANDER CHUTNEY


Ingredients
Shallots - 25 no.s
Dry red sillies - 8 no.s (medium-sized)
Urad dhal - 1 1/2 tbsp
Whole coriander - 1 1/2 tbsp
Tamarind paste - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 2 flakes
Oil - 1 tsp
Salt as needed
Little oil, mustard seeds, urad dhal, curry leaves to saute the chutney.
Water - 1 cup


Method
Heat 1 tsp oil in a frying pan. Add red chilies, urad dhal, coriander and fry for 5 mins in medium flame. Remove this from the pan and put it in a mixer can once cooled along with tamarind paste and salt and grind once without adding water.

In the same frying pan, add small onions, curry leaves and fry for 5 mins in medium flame till onion color changes. Let it cool for 5 mins. Now switch off the stove and add this mixture also in to the mixer can and grind twice by adding 1 tbsp water.

Heat oil in the frying pan, crackle mustard seeds. Add urad dhal, curry leaves and pour the mixture from the mixer can into it. Add 1/2 cup water. Let it boil for 2 mins and serve the hot and spicy onion chutney.
