POTATO PEAS MASALA


Ingredients
Potato - 1 medium boiled
Green peas - 1/2 cup (soak in water for 6-7 hours)
Onion - 1 medium chopped
Green chilies - 2 chopped
Tomato - 1 medium chopped
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Grated coconut - 2 tbsp (grind as a smooth paste with a pinch of cumin seeds)
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - a pinch
Cumin seeds - a pinch
Chana dhal - a pinch
Urad dhal - a pinch
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp (optional if Tomato is added)
Water - 1 cup



Method
Heat oil in a pan in medium flame, crackle mustard seeds. Add cumin seeds, chana dhal, urad dhal and saute for few seconds. Add curry leaves, green chilies, onions and saute till it turns translucent. Now add tomato and cook until it starts to break. Add coriander powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder, garam masala pwd and saute for few seconds. Add gg paste and saute well. Add the coconut paste and mix until raw smell goes. Add peas, the mashed potato, salt, water and mix well. Allow to boil to form a thick gravy consistency. If needed, cover and cook for 2 mins in medium to low flame. Add the lemon juice, add coriander leaves and mix and serve.
