GARBANSO ALOO PATTY
Patties are a healthy vegetarian snack / breakfast which can be easily grilled or shallow fried.
Ingredients
Garbanso/Channa - 1/2 cup (soaked overnight, boiled, smashed)
Potato - 2 medium (boiled, smashed)
Onion - 2 medium (chopped into small pieces)
Green chilly - 1 chopped
Coriander leaves - chopped
Ginger paste - 1/4 tsp
Garlic paste - 1/4 tsp
Cumin (jeera) powder - 1/4 tsp
Mango powder (Amchor) - 3 pinches
Salt to taste
Oil - 1tsp + 2-3 tbsp
Maida (All purpose flour) / breadcrumbs - 3 tbsp
Water - To wet the palms
Method
Take a bowl, add the smashed channa, potato, little salt, mix well and keep it aside. Heat 1tsp oil in a flat pan and add chopped onions, green chillies, coriander leaves. Saute till the onions becomes pink and put the stove in low flame. Add ginger, garlic paste, cumin powder, amchor, salt and mix well for another 2-3 mins. Add this into the channa aloo mixture and mix them all together. Wet your palm with water and make flat oval shaped patties. Roll it in maida / breadcrumbs. Heat 2-3 tbsp oil in a frying pan and shallow fry the patties in sim flame till the sides turn to golden brown in color. Serve hot with ketchup.
Note: Skip the channa to prepare quick aloo patties. In that case, grate the potatoes and while you prepare onion mix, add the potatoes also and fry for sometime. Let the mixture to cool for sometime and make the patties.
