RAVA UTHAPPAM
Uthappam is a common south Indian food. Normal uthappam is prepared using dosa batter. Rava uthappam is easy to prepare and if you add some veggies also, then there is no need for a side-dish. You can have it just like that, so it suits my fast life!
Ingredients
Rava - 10 tbsp
Yogurt - 1.5 tbsp
Bell pepper- 1/2 finely chopped
Tomato - 1 finely chopped (remove seeds)
Green Chilly - 1 finely chopped
Coriander leaves - a bunch chopped
Chilly powder - 1 tsp
Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
Water - 200 ml
Salt to taste
Method
1. Mix chopped bell peppers, tomato, green chilly, coriander leaves, chilli powder and salt well in a bowl.
2. Add rava, yogurt, and water to this and mix well.
3. Let this mix stand for 10 mins.
4. Heat a tawa, when the tawa is ready, add baking soda to the rava mix. Just mix it a little.
5. Put a portion of the mix on the tawa and flatten it using a small spoon.
6. Pour-in little oil on the sides of the uthappam and cook. Take care while flipping, it can be very tricky.
7. Serve it just like that or with tomato ketchup.
8. Note: this batter quantity makes 5 uthappams.
