SPECIAL VEGGIE BABY RICE


Rice can be given to babies starting from 7-8 months. Cook the rice with chopped/grated vegetables and add some ghee to make it more healthy.

Ingredients
Basmati rice - 1 cup
Toor dhal - 2 tbsp
Carrot - 1 (small, peeled, grated)
Sweet potato - 1  (small, peeled, grated)
Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Water - 3 cups

Method
Clean the rice and toor dhal. Take a cooker, add all the items into it and cook for nearly 10-12 whistles. Remove the pan from the flame and let the rice cool for sometime. Take a small portion of warm rice, add ghee and give to the baby. It can be refrigerated for a week. If you are refrigerating the rice, while giving it to baby, take a few spoon rice, add little water to it, add ghee, and microwave for a minute. Smash the rice with a heavy spoon and give to the baby. Do not add the same vegetable always. You can add these veggies also. Try different combinations of veggies for new taste.
Potato - 1/2 no small (peeled, grated)
Beans - 3 nos. grated
Green peas - frozen, 1 tbsp
Squash

In the beginning give rice to the baby in the noon time. If your baby likes rice too much, you can give once more in the evening.
