BROAD BEANS THORAN
Ingredients
Broad Beans - 250g chopped as very small cubes
Onion - 1 medium chopped
Coconut - 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilly powder - 1/4 tsp
Small onion - 2 no
Garlic - 2 pods
Cumin seeds - 1 pinch
Oil, mustard seeds, urad dhal, curry leaves for sauteing
Salt to taste
Method
1. Heat oil in a pan, crackle mustard seeds followed by urad dhal and curry leaves
2. Grind coconut, small onion, garlic, turmeric pwd, chilly pwd coarsely and keep aside
3. Saute onion in the heated pan and when it turns golden brown, add the grinded mixture
4. Fry for a minute, add broad beans, salt, sprinkle some water and cook until the vegetable is done
